Football & Beer
I put in the Tostido's Bowl DVD in for Nathan yesterday. He prefers to watch football instead of cartoons. Such a dude. He was so excited, but got so frustrated every time the camera panned to the pep band or audience members. He just wanted FOOTBALL! He then walked me over to the fridge and pointed at a beer. I said, "NO, you cannot have a beer." He replied, "FOOTBALL?!" (as if to say, "But, mom, I'm watching football. Therefore, I must have a beer." ) Silly boy!

About Bloggin' Time
Sheesh. I am always saying, “I’ve got to add that to the blog.” But, it doesn’t seem to happen. So much has happened since Easter. Makayla had her first dance recital, graduated from preschool, held baby animals at Baby Animal Day in Blackfoot, and Nathan experienced his first roller coaster ride, summer sprinkler fun, and received his second haircut!
We went to Blackfoot for Mother’s Day and spent time with both my mom and Steve and Janet. Wish I could have seen my Dad, but, he was in California that weekend. We went to Bear World and had a great time. Makayla’s dance recital went well. She did so great. I am so proud of her. Special thanks to Jas, Scott, Keri, Trevor, Joel, Grandma & Grandpa Huffman for attending. It made the recital that much more special for her. And I loved sitting by Trevor. He would turn to me between dances and say, “I was just going to dance at home.” I loved Nathan’s random shouts of “FOOTBALL!!!” during the performances. Grandma & Grandpa Evans tried hard to make it, but, Grandpa was very sick that weekend. I am glad he is doing better.
Makayla graduated from preschool a week ago. I can’t believe how fast time flies. She’ll be attending Kindergarten in the fall. I keep saying that I’m not one of those moms who will cry when she goes to school, but, as I type this my eyes tear up just knowing that I wont be able to spend as much time with her every day. I enjoy her company so much. We have such a great time together. She keeps a smile on my face and gives me so much affection. Nathan will be sad to have her gone. I’m just glad it is only half day. When did I get so sentimental??!! (sniff…sniff) Maybe when I got pregnant. : )
Speaking of pregnancy…everything seems to be going well on that front. I have another appointment in a couple weeks and am now 11 weeks. Almost done with first trimester!!! Yeah! I could have sworn we were having a girl, but, recently have felt unsure. We’ll find out in August. I say that with tongue in cheek – Nathan was supposed to be a girl for a couple weeks. I guess it’s never really certain until their birthday. But, nonetheless, I am eager to find out.
Nathan is changing so much. He is still infatuated with all sports. He loves to watch sports on tv and plays with balls all day long. His conversations go like this: “Football. Basketball. Ball. Football. Basketball. Ball.” With an occasional mama, dada, sissy, Trevors, bird, nana, bompa, help, waffles, dootie (cookie), nemenems (m&ms) and juice. He has amazing gross motor skills. He can throw and kick a ball like a pro!! I have a feeling that we will be spending many many days on the sidelines cheering for our little athlete. Just tonight, I was reading a book to Nathan. On the page was a drawing of a spider, immediately, he lifts up his foot and puts it on the spider. AMAZING!!! I have no idea where he learned this, but, I was soo proud of him. He will be a great spider-stomper. What a dude.
Jas is still working in Wyoming. We will be so glad when that is over. It’s just not the same without him. We miss him terribly. [Love you Jas!]
Here’s some recent pics…enjoy!
