Crafty Moments Inspired by How Does She

Eight days left until Christian arrives. Whoo hoo! I am soo done being pregnant, but, not sure if I'm ready for the addition of another little Huffman to our family.

It helps that my mind has been preoccupied with Christmas preparations. I found out about a blog written in part by Shelley Coates, formerly Shelley McKinlay, and I love it!! Love, love it! Check it out at www.howdoesshe.com I check it all the time and mostly think, "Wow, what a great idea..I can't do that - it's too crafty." But, this week, I tackled the block ornaments. I love how they turned out and I l was reminded why I don't do crafts. I have no patience!!! My wonderful husband cut blocks out of the scrap wood we had in the back yard from installing the drive-through garage door. He cut enough for Brandi and I. Did I mention he is wonderful? Well, he is. After purchasing paint, eye screws, and the pictures, we have new ornaments for less than $10! And, I have to say, they are my all-time favorite. So, thanks girls at How Does She?
Here's how the ornaments turned out:

Not so bad!

I have also been making the doughnut recipe that is posted on the blog. So easy and soooo yummy!! The hardest part is sharing with my family!

And an update on the kids:
Makayla: changed her favorite colors to green, orange, gold, silver, and purple; is back to school after a three week break, paints much of herself when painting blocks, and is very anxious for the arrival of her baby brother. She is asking Santa for a doll that poos and pees for Christmas. Darn commercials. I find this disgusting, and keep telling her she will have a baby brother that will do enough of that. How do I convince her she wants something else??

Nathan: wears socks on his hands instead of his feet, has learned what a corner kick is, can return a ball with "one touch," often asks, "play football with me?" (or soccer, baseball, or basketball), says "oopsie" when he farts, and loves to say "night-night" to every member of the family and extended family before I tuck him into bed. He's not as concerned about Christmas as Makayla. I am sure he doesn't even know what all the hoopla is about!

Christian: starts the dance party at about 9:30/10:00 p.m. every night, loves to stretch out in mom's tummy, and will be here soon - ready or not!!

Here's a video that makes me smile: enjoy!
